In 1900, they lived in Missoula, Montana (his job is listed as a RR Brakeman), in 1910 and 1920, they lived in Portland, Oregon, and in 1930, they lived in Bakersfield, California.
His California death certificate,(Library Item 7) shows:
"Born Nov 11, 1863 - Chicago - clearly in error (or maybe to show him as a US citizen)
Died July 11 1938 Cremation Oakland Cemetery July 13
Residence 362 Hudson, Oakland
Lived In California for last 15 years and in Oakland for 1
Informant Lillian Jeffrey at same address
Conductor Great Northern Railroad until 1918, for 34 years
Cause of death Chronic Myocarditis."
